Why we're building xFreelance
As a freelancer you're an entrepreneur. You choose your own jobs, your own clients and your own way of working. That's why you started. In practice, a lot of time goes to everything around it: updating CVs, tracking hours, emailing about timesheets and searching for the next job.
On top of that, the Dutch freelance market increasingly runs through intermediaries. Jobs go through platforms, brokers and recruiters, and the freelancer comes last. We've experienced that ourselves as freelancers. Those parties have their place, but the balance is off.
What we do
We take on the work around your work, on four fronts.
Your CV, easy to make and share
Write down your experience once, make a version for every job and share it with one link.
Your client relations in order
All your clients, contacts and projects in one place.
Projects and hours without the hassle
Log your hours per week and have your client sign off the month online.
Jobs in one place
We collect jobs from external freelance platforms, so you have less searching to do.
Honest about jobs
The jobs on our board mostly come from other freelance platforms. We'd rather say that openly: clients don't post their jobs with us (yet). What we do is bring them together for you, so you search in one place instead of everywhere.
You apply at the source, and that platform's terms apply.
We're building a way for freelancers, companies and recruiters to post jobs themselves. We're deliberately careful about it: it has to work seamlessly and be protected, so xFreelance doesn't become a pass-through for intermediaries. That's why it will take a while before it's ready.
How we collect jobsStronger together
In a busy market, a freelancer on their own is a small player. Together, we aren't. When freelancers unite on a platform of their own, we can raise the bar together: for the quality of the work, for good working conditions and for the way we are treated.
And we can learn from each other: about the craft, about clients and about running a business.
Your platform
xFreelance is ours, and just as much yours. The more freelancers join, the stronger our place in the market. Recruiters, brokers and clients can then no longer work around us: not around you, and not around all freelancers combined.
So spread the word. This is where you start over as an entrepreneur.
