Description
I have gathered every major hardware element for a solar-powered cold-storage chamber aimed at keeping perishables farm-fresh: the solar array with batteries and controller, the evaporative cooling hardware (fans, water pump, cellulose pads, piping), plus the brains of the system—temperature- and humidity-sensors tied to a microcontroller.
The next step is to turn this pile of parts into a fully working, self-regulating unit. When the chamber creeps above its set temperature or drops below its target humidity, I want the microcontroller to decide—without human input—when to start the fan–pump loop and how long to run it. All decisions should be logged and shown on a small on-chamber display while also pushing concise alerts (temperature, humidity, run time, battery level) to a remote dashboard or messaging service for peace of mind when I’m in the field.
Key goals
• Schematics and wiring that marry the solar subsystem to the cooling and control circuits safely.
• Microcontroller firmware that reads sensors, compares them to setpoints, triggers the fan and pump intelligently, and throttles operation to protect the battery bank at night or on cloudy days.
• A simple menu-driven TFT or OLED screen on the door showing live readings, status icons, and last alert sent.
• Remote notifications via Wi-Fi, GSM, or LoRa—whichever best fits micro-power constraints—so I receive warning pings even when off-site.
Acceptance check
The build will be considered complete once a 24-hour test cycle keeps the chamber within crop-safe limits (±2 °C, 70–90 % RH), logs every intervention, and displays/forwards at least one automatic alert.
All source files—code, wiring diagrams (Fritzing/Eagle), BOM annotations, and a short user manual—form the final deliverable, ready for me to replicate or scale.
Budget: INR 600–1500
